Albuquerque, N.M.–– The leadership at Dream In Action NM, the electoral arm of NM Dream Team––the largest immigrant youth-led organization in New Mexico––, issued the following statement announcing its endorsement of Lan Sena, seeking election to serve as City Councilor for Albuquerque’s District 1.
Today, we are happy and proud to announce our official endorsement for Lan Sena currently seeking to represent Albuquerque residents in District 1. During her time in City Council, Lan has demonstrated great leadership and a true champion for workers, immigrants, refugees, and vulnerable communities. She continues to show a strong commitment to fighting systems that have kept working families from thriving by propelling and supporting important policies like paid sick leave, hazard pay, and protections for essential workers. Lastly, she has championed policies that recognize the need for immediate action on climate and highlight how this crisis disproportionately impacts our Black, Indigenous, People of Color communities.
We look forward to working alongside a great progressive leader like Lan who will help drive ABQ forward in the right direction–one that ensures we build back stronger than before!
DIANM’s members will be launching an accelerated canvassing & digital program for Sena and will be organizing phone banks, which will result in getting Albuquerque voters out to vote for our next city mayor.
