Las Cruces, N.M..–– The leadership at Dream In Action NM, the electoral arm of NM Dream Team––the largest immigrant youth-led organization in New Mexico––, issued the following statement announcing its endorsement of Becky Corran, seeking to serve in Las Cruces City Council, District 5.
Today, we are proud to officially endorse Becky Corran for Las Cruces City Council, District 5. As a public health professional and educator, Corran cares about the issues impacting our communities the most and that can be addressed directly at the local level, like health, housing, social mobility, guaranteeing clean air & water, outdoor recreation & climate action. She knows that addressing climate change and wealth disparities can be addressed through community-oriented planning, strategic investment and economic development that centers workers.
We look forward to working alongside a great progressive leader like Corran who will help elevate the voices of historically underrepresented communities in our decisions for a prosperous today and tomorrow!
DIANM’s members will be launching an accelerated canvassing & digital program for Corran and will be organizing phone banks, which will also result in getting Las Cruces residents out to vote for our next city councilors.
